NOTE: With 3.0's release a lot has changed. The main reason for having 2.9.7 still is from 3.0 onward, the costume system for +stats has been removed and "Tabs" have replaced stat gains. Costumes still exist, but they're cosmetic only. I left this older version for those that wished to experience the mod with them, especially the ability to custom edit the stats via the lua file included with the html file download for
the lua translation. The rest of this readme is for 2.9.7 so read on. Otherwise, read the 3.0+ readme.

2.9.7 and 1.6.6 - Stable, but has a few issues you need to be aware of if playing. Read the bug readme in this folder.

Per Mato's request, we've taken over maintenance and maintaining his work from version A3 onward. Anything A3+ will be my group's efforts, with translation corrections, changes, etc, all with Mato's permission. Most likely you downloaded this from ngplus.net or possibly directly from Mato's website, but in case you didn't, and need to reach myself or just want to hang out on the New Game Plus Discord (or discuss T-Edition in the T-Edition channel), find us here:

And if you'd rather just post on our forums or keep yourself up-to-date on the mod's work, find us over here:

Other than that, to not overwhelm you too much, if you missed the files or downloaded this elsewhere, below is a link to my team's
translation, which includes Tsushiy's help files fully translated, along with a lot of optional patches and other stuff:

And now for the update notes:

PLEASE READ THE CURRENT BUGS README.

KEEP BATTLE SPEED ON 3 OR YOU MAY HAVE A BAD TIME; SPEED ONLY AFFECTS ENEMIES NOT YOU!

Unchanged - 7/14/22

Added a lua bestiary and streamlined both lua files into one. Load up the new lua and in the main menu hit L, or during battle pause, hit L,
and Y to see page 2 of data. Enjoy!

Version A4 2.9.7 r1 - 6/13/22

So far this patch seems stable (minus the noted bugs) as a handful of people have played, including Tsushiy, and not run into any issues.
Though for now, 2.9.4 will remain as a safety. This small update is just to fix a bug from the JP version. Gauntlet was under certain
circumstances auto-equipping unobtained and character-restricted weapons and has now been fixed, thanks to an anon poster on Tsushiy's forums
for giving us the coding solution.

Version A4 2.9.7 - 5/28/22

Firstly, PLEASE READ THE CURRENT BUGS README.

Fixed the issues with 2.9.6. Hopefully stuff is stable now, but in the event it isn't, 2.9.4 is still available. Tsushiy fixed the
game-breaking bugs and knows the reason, however he didn't revert the changes and instead fixed them, he hopes. He goes on to say things may
still crash, so we're carefully analyzing the data and getting feedback still. Another optional patch has been added, thanks to Laurel for
making this and Gens for the code work, you can now swap the default portraits of the cast for a new modern/pixel remaster look. Check the
optional patches folder for previews. And what's new in 2.9.7 per the update notes:

2.9.7:

Fixed a bug with the 「Kefka」 Narshe battle and 「Ifrit」 and 「Shiva」 battles that wasn't intended. This is just a small example of a larger
issue that was fixed.
Fixed a ratio damage process.
The Esper 「Diabolos」's attack 「Dark Messenger」's gravity effect has been changed from 15/16 to 3/4.

Version A4 2.9.6 - 5/26/22

A new version has been released by Tsushiy, popping back after almost 1.5 years of hiatus. The current version is now 2.9.6 (this was
previously 2.9.4 aka A1, A2, and A3 via Mato's patch name). 2.9.5 was released and .6 was followed a couple days later with some more
additions and bug fixes, so you didn't miss anything. Here's the changes you can expect:

2.9.5:

「Experince Egg」 has been removed once again (immediately sell it to an NPC if transferring your data over from an older version, as it will
cause problems if you don't).
※This is due to causing graphical glitches when equipping Relics and exceeding the max amount of allowed items.
Terra and Celes's default sprites have been slightly edited (back view).
※Thanks to Mr. 228 from the forums for these.
Locke's default sprite has been changed.
※I modified it based on Kain Stryder's work.
Kefka's sprite has been changed.
※Thanks to NAOKI for making this.
Terra's Trance sprite has been changed.
※This doesn't affect the sprite model used when she flies around the world map.
Fixed an issue where Setzer's sprite was incorrect when riding a Chocobo.
Of the new songs added, 「FF2 - Battle Scene 2」's sequence data has been modified.
※Thanks to Mr. 222 in the 「FF6T Other Chat - 3」 thread on the forums for this.
「Flash」's sprite location has been fixed.
　※I used The FF6 Hacking Community's 「Stray Flash」 patch for this.
Edgar's 「Pilot Suit」 menu portrait has been fixed.
「Aura Cannon」's palette has been changed.
「Northern Cross」's palette has been changed.
Regen, Poison, and Disease's potency has been changed to max HP dependence instead of current HP.
In addition, the limit of Poison/Disease slip damage is 999.
「Wave Cannon」's formula has been changed to 9/16 of maximum HP and can no longer be evaded based on your Stamina value.
Fixed a bug on the Floating Continent in the WoR involving the save point room. This has been removed and a new save point is placed outside
of it.
「Crusader」's 「Armaggedon」 has been changed from non-elemental damage to all-elemental damage.
The enemy 「Ironclad」 has had its name changed to 「Wolframiter」, and had its stats/resistances also changed.
「Carbuncle」 and 「Catoblepas」 are now available to obtain in the WoR.
Fixed an issue during 「New Game+」 where changing costumes at inns with Relm would cause issues.
Fixed some errors in map tile placements in the Forbidden Land Eureka.
The battle background for the Crystal Tower has been changed.

2.9.6:

Fixed a bug where certain warps on the Floating Continent in the WoR would cause soft locks (note: this seems to still happen randomly, be
careful. It's only the warp to the west of the save point -Kain).
「Emeralditan」's battle script was fixed.
Experience points from enemies during the WoR has been increased.
Fixed a bug where Kefka was dropping garbage data as his drop on the Floating Continent.
The item order in the Items menu has been adjusted.

In EX:

Fixed a bug where Locke's 「Sky Pirate」 costume wasn't selectable in EX

Besides these changes, nothing else was edited or adjusted. I've left v2.9.4 available in the meantime in the event 2.9.6 is unstable or
breaks in any way. We'll be testing and looking for any bugs in the meanwhile, especially if any are found on the Japanese side. The other
reason for 2.9.4 remaining is from here out, Mato's compiler isn't 100% working with the updates and I had to manually edit and patch stuff
in. So for now, 2.9.4 remains until we can make sure everything's running smoothly.

Finally, I've added two optional patches in a folder for those that would prefer 1 column Esper lists and Blue Magic (without truncation),
and some slightly adjusted Bushido names.

Version A3r11 - 2/11/22

Just a handful of small text errors were fixed, nothing major.

Version A3r10 - 1/23/22

Fixed the icon for Rage Ring from a bracelet to a ring and a few item names were cleaned up. Also adjusted the battle text for Red Dragon to
be more clear on the battle hint as many were struggling to grasp what to do.

Version A3r9 - 1/11/22

Fixed a handful of monster names and items. Nothing renamed, just cleaned stuff up or corrected a couple of small errors/mistakes.

Version A3r8 - 1/9/22

Fixed the EX costume bug where the menu list was all invisible. Tested and works with all costumes/characters, except Locke's Sky Pirate
costume is still unselectable due to event coding from Tsushiy. If you wish to use that costume, have Locke enter EX with it equipped.

Version A3r7 - 1/7/22

More text fixes and added the pause menu lua script.

Version A3r6 - 1/1/22

Handful of small text fixes.

Version A3r5 -12/29/21

Fixed up a few text errors - Mythril Axe, and a couple of the FF11 painting descriptions (elven to elvaan and Yuhtungah to Yuhtunga) and one
of Arvis's dialogues about the Sealed Gate was missing a word "the empire is keeping a close on the place..." etc, added "eye" after close.
Also fixed Setzer's chocobo riding sprite that was a small error on Tsushiy's part, he simply forgot to update it to his new sprite's back
graphics.

Version A3r1-r4 - 12/25/21

Forgot to document the changes previously, so doing so now. Mostly nothing big, just a handful of text errors were fixed up, ultimately
nothing you'll really notice. The Sketch patch from A3 below was removed for the time being as it was breaking the ending cutscene. We'll be
adding it back in as a separate patch once we've fixed it.

Version A3 - 12/9/21

I've systematically went through the entire text of the mod and corrected any mistakes/errors, be it wrong or missing info (not Mato's fault,
alot of it is Tsushiy forgot to list/update things and it was only discovered via data mining), as well as just changing some names to be more
accurate (as Mato has given us permission to do what we want with his work). Some things were just off or not what was intended, and the list
is too large to note. For the most part you probably won't notice, but things are polished. I have not touched the script that was Mato's
work, as my intention is simply to update any reports or errors (which is what I've done).

This isn't a re-translation or anything, however, I made some slight changes to the GBA part of the script based on feedback for accuracy's
sake:

- Fixed "jump into the falls?" line on the Serpent Trench part that was probably used to save space originally, borrowed from the Baren Falls
segment (only seen if you return for Water Rondo farming etc, thanks to Ballz for this).

- Changed "town" to "location" for the imperial soldiers dialogue guarding Mt. Koltz in the World of Balance (thanks to Ballz for this).

- The abilities granted by weapons/armor/relics "Aim" and "Blade Grasp" now just say "100% Fight" and "Extra Evade" (it grants another evasion
roll). I did this cause there was a lot of confusion for those that haven't read the documentation and just made it easier to know in the
first place.

- A specific esper battle (Seraph) now has a better hint at the start. Many players were struggling and only winning with brute force or
coming back overleveled. Tsushiy designed this poorly and not for the majority, as he would know the fight, but never fixed it for others.
There is an additional hint from an old man npc in the area as well (this one is from Tsushiy, but the intro text for the battle was extremely
vague/unhelpful).

Going forward, I myself have no plans to adjust any more of the script unless it's something incorrect or bugged.

- The Sketch bug seems to have reared its head but it's been fixed... hopefully for good this time. If this triggers still, please report it
(discord/forum links at the top of the document).

- Various weapons/armor/relics were missing info on what they did.

- The naming screen now has a lowercase x (thanks Ballz from the romhacking.net forums!)

- Various [WAIT] timers have been added to the game in the dialogue as text was scrolling a bit too fast at points. (Thank you again to Ballz
for this.)

- Experience Egg's description was missing, this has been fixed.

- Fixed the Blood Weapon painting text, and Mato fixed the status screen error displaying the wrongly equipped esper info.
